The blog begins

Hi everyone out there in blogger world. This is my first effort at using a blog so please be gentle on me.

I wanted to start this blog to voice my options on the world and in particular the general things about it that I don't like, I may not be too old but I am a real old grump at heart.

I want to start small on the rants and work my way up as I get used to blogger with this in mind my first target is radio adverts.

Radio Adverts
I understand that radio station need to make a profit and my gripe is not with all adverts. The problem is the government made adverts that decide the best way to remind people to pay an everyday cost such as their car tax is to broadcast an advert akin to the feeling of passing through an airport metal detector with the customs officers glaring. To compound the initial threat of a fine the radio narrator who I can only assume was unable to get work doing horror movie trailers as he was to threatening, goes on to ask us if we have not paid this tax have we paid the insurance? If we have no insurance does it have an MOT? And if there is no MOT is it safe? To sum up in the space of a two minute advertisement I have gone from from an average joe driving a small and slightly too girly looking hatchback to work, with the main concern of whether or not night shift had helped themselves to the coffee in the jar I left on my desk to driving a death trap doomed to a horrible crash with no insurance to pay for the untold misery caused.

The Truth:      We all know that we have to pay these bills and receive a constant flow of them on our     doormat as a sad reminder. The people who will pay would only need a gentle reminder to do so, the people who don't pay these quite simply won't. In short banish these threatening adverts back to which ever godforsaken think tank they came from and let us get to work happy.
